International Program on Co-Creative Designer
for Realization of SWGs Society in Sub-Saharan Region

This program builds upon the established track records of international collaborative research between the partner university in Ghana and the applicant universities (University of Yamanashi and Kitasato University). It leverages the strengths and achievements demonstrated by University of Yamanashi's program”International Priority Graduate Program (PGP) -Advanced Graduate Courses for International Students-" supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) and Kitasato University's expertise in infectious diseases and public health. This program will establish a practical and systematic education and research program to cultivate “Co-creative Designers” responsible for designing and implementing SWGs in Ghana and Sub-Saharan African countries.

Logo Mark Design Concept: “Flowers Bloom”

Art Director/Designer
RED. Ryuko Gomi

Japan's national flower is the “cherry blossom,” while Ghana's is the “date palm.” Both feature clusters of small flowers that bloom in abundance. We envision these flowers as the talents from both universities, and the SWGs (Sustainable Well-being Goals) for Sub-Saharan countries that these talents should address. At the center, the forms of both national flags—“● and ★”—are layered to express that both nations are central to the development. This design evokes the image of co-creative designers nurtured through this program leading the realization of SWGs in Sub-Saharan countries —that is, the blooming (or unfolding) of flowers. The colors are based on the flags' colors, with saturation increased for a floral, vibrant effect.
